Mission & Objectives

The Women in Leadership Committee aims to build a supportive ecosystem and a strong professional network for women leaders across corporate, government, and non-profit sectors.

We enable women living and working in the greater Washington, DC area to achieve professional excellence by:

• Fostering Career Advancement: Providing the confidence, skills, and tools necessary to lead at the highest corporate and institutional levels.
• Cultivating Mentorship: Connecting emerging talent with seasoned executives through structured programs to shape meaningful career pathways.
• Encouraging Cross-Cultural Synergy: Developing partnerships with French and American-based organizations to offer dynamic networking and positive cross-cultural business insights.

Core Initiatives & Programming

Our committee drives engagement throughout the year through distinct event formats:

• The WOW Initiative (Women on Women Mentorship): Co-led by our leadership team, this channel provides access to mentors and sponsors (both women and men) to guide professional development and strategic career choices.
• Interactive Workshops & Fireside Chats: High-profile sessions featuring dynamic guest speakers, journalists, and institutional leaders—such as our recent summit dialogue exploring modern perspectives of women in the workplace.
• Seasonal Networking Elements: Informal yet structured gatherings—including our signature La Rentrée (Back-to-School) coffees hosted at locations like the Embassy of France—built around themes of collaboration and community.
• Institutional Alliances: Active participation in major regional forums, including joint initiatives for International Women’s Day in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
