Ambassador Laurent Bili as been serving as the Ambassador of France to the United States since February 14, 2023.
Prior to his appointment in the United States, Ambassador Bili served as the Ambassador of France in Bangkok, Ankara, Brasilia, and Beijing.
Ambassador Bili has had a distinguished career in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition to his assignments in different countries, he has also served in the central services of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. One notable role he held was that of Director-General of Globalization. In this capacity, Ambassador Bili was responsible for overseeing France's policies and strategies relating to globalization, including trade, economic cooperation, and international relations. He served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), an organization that oversees French schools abroad, promoting French language and culture while providing educational support to French nationals and local students.
